FORTALEZA ANEJO
Fortaleza Añejo is a tequila of exceptional quality and sophistication, representing the culmination of meticulous craftsmanship and traditional production methods. As an añejo, this tequila has undergone a prolonged aging process, allowing it to develop a rich complexity while maintaining the distinct characteristics of the blue agave.
Crafted with precision and care, Fortaleza Añejo begins with the selection and harvesting of mature blue agave plants. The piñas, or agave hearts, are slow-cooked in traditional stone ovens, crushed, and then naturally fermented. The resulting juice is double distilled in copper pot stills, a method that emphasizes the artisanal nature of its production.
Following distillation, Fortaleza Añejo is aged in American oak barrels for a minimum of 18 months. This extended maturation imparts a deep amber hue to the tequila and contributes to a complex flavor profile.
In terms of appearance, Fortaleza Añejo presents a lustrous amber color, inviting anticipation of its rich and nuanced aromas. The nose is greeted with a delightful blend of scents, including notes of vanilla, caramel, and a subtle hint of spice, complementing the agave's inherent sweetness.
On the palate, Fortaleza Añejo offers a luxurious and velvety experience. The aging process brings forth flavors of oak, toffee, and dark chocolate, interwoven with the natural sweetness of the agave. The result is a well-balanced and sophisticated tequila with a smooth and lingering finish.
